Thumbnail Border setting

Hi there. I just updated from 14.4 to 16.5 and have been trying to get things exactly the way they used to be.

In the past - as per the attached screenshot - when I first created a folder with images in it, both the folder thumbnail and each image thumb would have a black bar at the top and bottom.

After editing the images the bars would disappear. Then it was easy at a glance to see if a folder or images had been edited yet.

I'm sure it's a simple setting, but I can't find it.

Hi and welcome to the club,

those black bars had never been intended. I think they were an artifact (borderline bug) created by one of the many Windows ways to extract a thumbnail from an image file.

If you set "Configuration | Thumbnails | Quality" to "Fast", it should work the way it did before the upgrade. (Not 100% sure at the moment; it might be that Folder Thumbnails use their own way independent of that setting.)
