16.50.0200 - Can't see Downloads and Links

Post by mwoffenden »

Just installed 16.50.0200 but cannot see Downloads and Links even though I have them turned ON in Configuration and Optimize Tree is OFF.

Running Windows 10.

Ideas?

Mini Tree on? In that case you need to browse to them first. E.g. via Breadcrumb...

Reset tree brought the new items to life.

Odd sort order though. How can I get them in Alphabetical order (and to stay that way)?

Links
Desktop

Downloads

Local Disk (C:)
DVD Drive (D:)
Network
Recycle Bin

This order is hard-coded.

I turned off "Links" in configuration but "Links" still shows up. Why?

You are probably using the Mini Tree.

I was, but this is very confusing for the uninitiated. OFF should mean off, regardless of whether or not the mini tree is in use.

This would defeat the idea of the Mini Tree.
