How to save a workspace

Post by mig.bar »

Sorry, I'm new to this (testing the program for the first time) and the answer is probably obvious, but I'm not able to find it.
I want to save the whole workspace. I have two panes, each with seven open tabs which I have renamed and linked to a specific folder in my drives.
I want to save the whole workspace so that after I have changed the various tabs, whenever I load the workspace everything gets back to its initial status (all the 14 tabs with the names I've given them and pointing to the correct folders)
From what I've read on the manual, this should be done via TABSETS SAVE/OPEN but when I save then make changes on the tabs and load again, things don't revert to the original state.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

File - Save Settings

and then:
- Make sure these ones are off:
[ ] Configuration | Startup & Exit | Autosave settings after this many minutes
[ ] Configuration | Startup & Exit | Save settings on exit

Don't save your settings when you changed your tabs...

Thanks.
So with "save configuration as" / "Load configuration" I can have as many workspaces as I want.
Is there any faster access to them other than having to go through the menus? Any shortcuts or can I put the workspaces as icons on the ribbon?
Thanks again

This is not exactly the same. The current open tabs are not stored in the .ini file of XY but in the <xydata>\Panes folder...

Also be sure to check out SessionManager http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=8691 which has similar functionality.
