Slow down sound preview
Is there a way to slow down the preview of a sound file? Or do I have to load it directly into VLC to do that?

No, XYplorer can only play back a media file at 100% speed - or whatever the associated preview handler returns.

Re: Slow down sound preview
VLC is my default audio program. Is XY calling it to preview the file? If so, if I change a setting in VLC, can I play I file back slower? I know this is really a question about VLC, but it's also a question about the integration of XY and VLC. Thanks for the quick reply.

Re: Slow down sound preview
I haven't installed/used VLC in a long while, but I don't think it installs any handlers. Even if it did, I doubt a "measly" preview handler would support advanced controls.
Anyways, unless somebody can suggest a good alternative, juggling with preview handlers is more trouble than is worth; you're better off opening the file in VLC straight away.

Re: Slow down sound preview
There is no preview through vlc in XY.
Use e.g. a CTB to run VLC and set a play rate at the same time through a script:
x = playback rate (e.g. "2")
Use e.g. a CTB to run VLC and set a play rate at the same time through a script:
Code: Select all
run """<path to your vlc folder>\vlc.exe"" --rate=x ""<curitem>"""; One of my scripts helped you out? Please donate via Paypal

Thanks highend,
Sorry, but I'm a real newbie. What's a CTB?
