problem very serious loss of information.

Post by CompSystems »

Hi

Sorry for my bad English

problem very serious loss of information.

I have the following problem,

I have several laptops, each with different user names, these days I shook my information from an old hard drive to a new hard drive, using XYplorer
by means of an external USB disc drive, the transfer was successful, and even verify that the files were fine.

disconnect the external reader, remove the hard disk and then when installing the new hard drive on the laptop I got the surprise that the name of the folder was found.00 and impossible to get into the folder, see on the internet the cause of lost or if the files are still there.

I'm desperate because they are 2 years of information that may be lost

What do you suggest I do? that software used to recover files or make visible

some say it could be a virus, but constantly scanning the hard drives.
others say that as the files belong to different users can not access them and are still there

others say you should use specialized browsers for secure file transfer and avoid loss of data, is this true?

Thank you

Hola

Gracias

Which folder(s) did you copy from where to where?

Not being able to get into a folder (or read it's content) is a permission / ownership problem (as long as the copy was successful and you don't use encryption software like BitLocker)

Windows creates folders like found.000 when it checks the drive for errors, to store recovered data. XYplorer has nothing do with that.

Plug that harddisk as an external drive into another computer, and use something like Recuva to recover as much of your data as you can.
