What happens when you move the UEStudio entry to the first place above the ZipToday entry, is the icon for it still not shown but the ZipToday still is?

Yes, moving does not change. Also, it is not UES alone - I tried another entry referring Excel, and that fires the app, but also does not show an icon.
Then I went to my tablet and tried to reproduce there (also Win10-64) - same effects there.

I have Win10-64 and A-OK.
What if you browse to the UEstudio.exe location? Do you see its icon in the filelist?
Do you see the icon in Windows Explorer? Did you try running XYplorer as admin? Did you try whitelisting XYplorer in your AV utility?

Sorry MBass, I wasn't sure what you might have tried before your first post. Another stupid question: To retrieve the executable, are you double clicking in the "Commands" box...just to make sure the path is valid as XY sees it? I don't have that particular program but I did try the same thing using other execs in the C:\Program Files folder and C:\Program Files (86) folder and have no problem. XY will automatically quote the "Application" when done this way.

Re: UDC: how to use app-icon?
@klownboy: just did that - but I still didn't get the icon.
@SammaySarkar: yes, the icon is shown in the Filelist and also in Explorer and I am running XY as Admin.
I'm using NOD32 as AV and don't know how to whitelist an app there. So I disabled NOD32, restarted XY and added the app again. It still did not show the icon.
BUT there are also good news: the info about XY not showing the icon on my tablet was wrong - UE was in a different path there, and after I fixed that the icon showed up. Which makes me think... So I'll try to uninstall on the main PC and will re-install info Program Files (x86)...
(5mins later): re-installation of the app in different path and re-adding of the UDC did not change. Guess I'll have to live with it (well, without it, actually) then...

Re: UDC: how to use app-icon?
The thing is: The icon you're using for ZipToday is working. So you should start from there.
- Assign it to UEStudio
Does it work when you use the environment variable %iconlib%?
Does it work when you use the full path?
If both are true, assign a different icon to UEStudio
Does it still work?
If all are true XY only... has a problem to read the icon information from .exe (maybe .dll, etc.)...

Re: UDC: how to use app-icon?
Ok, I was able to assign a different icon with absolute path or envVar - that worked. So I finally extracted the icon from the .EXE, saved it to %iconlib% and XY displayed it. It's ok to do this once if there seems to be a problem with that specific app (although I works fine on the other machine), I was fearing it might be neccessary for every app that I wanted to add - but I feel reassured now that won't be the case

I just had some things to do in the dir of the reinstalled UES - and now XY doesn't show the icons anymore. Screenshot shows XY vs. Explorer...

Re: UDC: how to use app-icon?
I noticed today that another app was also not showing icons any more, so I googled a bit and finally got them back. Also the "Open with" now shows the UES-Icons correctly, w/o explicitely specifying it.
The solution: Go to 'Start' open run command, type in Regedit. In the new window of Registry Editor go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shellex and delete the subkey/folder 'IconHandler'. (Might have been caused by having had some Stardock-components on my machine...)

Thanks for the tip! Might come in handy for other stardock victims...
