It is hard for old dogs to learn new tricks ;-)
I started managing files under DOS qnd quickly got used to Norton Commander's way of working with 2 windows - and even in XY I always have 2 panes open. What I am looking for is an easy way to copy or move selected files from the active pane to the inactive. The menu-path for such a frequently used operation feels way too complicated for me AND it does not seems to have unchanging items refering to "the other pane", so it looks like there is no easy way to assign a kbd-short to something.
I'm sure that it could be done with scripting - but I can't believe it has to be so complicated. Surely the issue must have been raised before - I can't believe 16 versions went by w/o a nice & easy solution to this. So, pls. educate my: what is the XY-way of copying selected files to the directory shown in the other pane (using the kbd!) ???

Re: Norton-style copying
Baah - gotcha. <slaps hand against forehead>
Ok, I accept that answer, thanks
The menu-structure is still a bit confusing...
