Hanging when accessing tabs for the first time?

This is not a huge deal, but why does XYplorer behave as if my disks are spinning up when I first start the program after a reboot and click on a locked tab? My drives are set to always on, and this doesn't happen with File Explorer.

Also, another thing I noticed is that if I switch to a tab with a lot of folders/content and immediately try to jump to another tab, the click won't register.

"behaves as if my disks are spinning up" -- so they are not actually spinning up. What does constitute that behavior then?
