Hi
First, please accept my apologies if my question has been answered elsewhere. I have been using XY for a couple of weeks and I still don't know the jargon names for various parts of the whole. I have also checked the FAQs and had no luck there.
Above is how XY looks when I start it. I love its simplicity. I hope I am correct in referring to the left part of the picture as the Treeview.
Can anybody advise me how to add folders to and remove folders from this Treeview? I would like to add the folders 'Pictures' and 'Dropbox' to the list. Maybe 'Favourites' too. I would also like to remove 'Recycle Bin' as well.
Thanks in advance

Re: Configuring the initial tree
That is indeed the tree.
The tree in XYplorer is not something that can really be configured in the way you desire. It is meant to show the actual file structure, not a list of favorites in the way Windows Explorer has taken.
Of your requested changes the only one that can be accomplished is to hide the recycle bin, which you can do by unchecking Configuration | Tree and List | Items in Tree and List | Show Recycle Bin folder: The Mini Tree feature gives you a little more control, but is meant more for pruning rather than adding.
It's not available in the free edition, but you may want to trial the pro version and see if the Catalog would satisfy your needs.
Outside of those options you could actually modify the file system to achieve what you want by either:
Sorry that wasn't the answer you were hoping for!

Outside of those options you could actually modify the file system to achieve what you want by either:
- Pick a folder that is displayed in the tree and then create Junctions or Symbolic Links to the desired folders within that folder.
- Use subst, net use, or similar programs to map a specific folder to a drive letter. Then repeat for each desired folder or place Junctions/Symbolic Links within this mapped folder.

Many thanks for the reply, and for your lateral thinking of alternative ways for me to achieve my hopes. Sorry I didn't see it sooner. I have just discovered that I had not configured the User Control Panel to have e-mails sent when somebody replies.
