Just noticed in the last version (16.20.0100) - when I copy a set of files from one tab to another, the selection is lost in the target (or just few files remain selected).
In one tab I select 10 or so files, hit Ctrl+C, switch to another tab, press Ctrl+V and I expect to see a selection of the items I just pasted, instead I see no selection or once I saw just 2 random files selected.
This a bug or something intentional? It was Ok in some previous versions.
No custom copy chosen in settings, most options are at their defaults.
P.S. I copy small files and in the moment they are pasted I can see the main window blinks (looses focus) for a moment.
P.S.2. If I copy severeal large files (50-100-200MB each) so the system copy dialog "has time to" appear, the selection is preserved in target. Not for small files that don't trigger the dialog to even appear.

Re: Copy/Paste does not preserve selection in target
Latest = v16.20.0100 or an official release?
Type
in your address bar and try the same in that XY instance
If it does work there, make a copy of your XYplorer.ini file, open it, remove the serial information, save it, zip it and attach it to your next post
Type
Code: Select all
::fresh;If it does work there, make a copy of your XYplorer.ini file, open it, remove the serial information, save it, zip it and attach it to your next post

Re: Copy/Paste does not preserve selection in target
Hi.
This also happens to a totally new installation with no leftovers - I use the portable ZIP version and copied and extracted it to a new and empty folder and ran it. The latest official 16.20.0100.
I had saved a previous test version - 16.10.0300 - there it works perfectly. Somewhere in 16.20 I presume something happened.
I hope this is an easy to fix bug because it's quite critical for frequent movers/copiers.
P.S. Yes, I've tried the ::fresh instance, it acts the same (buggy).
P.S.2. 16.20.0000 has the same bug.

Re: Copy/Paste does not preserve selection in target
Ok, confirmed
With custom copy not enabled the old version shows copied files immediately and retains the correct selection
The last working version is: v16.10.0305
and beginning from v16.10.0306 this behavior is broken
With custom copy enabled all versions up to the latest beta are fine
So this change is probably the culprit:

% Auto-Refresh: Optimized list refresh operations. Should result in a
notable speed-up especially on slow network drives.

Re: Copy/Paste does not preserve selection in target
Yes.
I guess Custom Copy works alright because it always displays the copy dialog, regardless of items' size. If I copy 10 files 1KB each, the dialog appears for a moment.
I liked the standard Windows behavior of not displaying the dialog for fast operations on small files. It only appears after a second or so when the process takes longer than a threshold, something like that.
I could get used to the custom copy anyways, but the standard copy has this feature to appear and steal focus only on large batches.
