Unable to Replace File(s) in Target Directories

Post by MikeCopeland »

I love so many things about XYplorer, but something I can't do confounds me: I can't replace a file (via move or copy) that exists in the target directory. For example, if I update a file in a work directory and try to move or copy the modified file to its original directory, nothing happens. Any attempt to transfer a file to a directory that contains a file with its name...is ignored. I am forced to remove or rename the existing file before the move/copy works.
I would _expect_ to be asked/prompted whenever I make such an action (like competing file managers), but XYplorer doesn't do so. I tried to find a configuration option for this, but am unable to find anything that does what I want. I am using version 15.20.0300. Please advise. TIA

Open the configuration.

File Operations - File Operations

Show a screenshot of that page and another one when you clicked on "Configure..." right under "Custom Copy Operations (if [x] Use Custom Copy is checked)

Any reason why you don't upgrade? Your version is about half a year old...
