copy&paste troubles

Post by Creat »

Hello again :)

I've been having some strange problems with copy&paste lately. I select a few files that I want to move, hit Ctrl-X (the icons turn brighter to indicate the files are cut), go to the destination directory and hit Ctrl-V and XY tells me "Nothing to Paste". When I try again a few minutes later it works (same files!). This happens quite a bit lately, I really can't tell you what the common link is between the tries. Sometimes it works, sometimes it just doesn't...
Sorry I can't give any more details :/

bye

Hm, never happened to me and I used cut and paste a lot. Is some other process messing with your clipboard?

At least not that I know of...
I suppose I'm stuck with it for now anyway since I can't exactly give you anything to go on for reproducing it.

well if I notice anything I'll let you know :)

I was having the same problem there for a while; seems to have gone away on it's own. I'm not sure, but it may have been when I upgraded to the latest release that it went away.

And I do have a program that caches copies/cuts called ArsClip v2.8.5, but it wasn't the cause of the problem.

well I think it's fine here now too (with the newest version).
It does look like it was xy's fault though to be hones, not sure how/what/why exactly though. The only other thing that used the clipboard was a local VNC-Viewer instance (it keeps the clipboard of both PCs in sync) which I usualy keep open, but even after I stopped to use it on this PC the problems persistet (still only in XY).
Anyway, I think they are gone now, will let you know though :)
