Tree view repainting

Post by JohnM »

Hi all,

I've got a little problem that I'm hoping someone can help me with.

When I perform an action, such as inserting/ejecting a usb stick, XY refreshes the tree view from scratch. When the refresh happens, the TV is blanked and is then repainted. It is visually distracting and has the side effect of collapsing open subfolders in the tree, other than the active one (which is really annoying). It does it on Win8.1 x64 and XP.

There must be a setting that controls this. I've hunted about but I couldn't find it. Does anyone know what it is?

TIA
Cheers

Not what I was hoping for. :-(

Yes, the full tree.

I use roughly the same setup on both 8.1 and XP (on different machines). Is it possible that I have ended up a setting or combination of settings that could be causing this? If so, I will try creating a new setup from scratch and see what happens.

I tried various combinations of related settings, but no luck.

Could you post a screenshot of your settings in Configuration | Tree and List?

See attached.

I moved aside my existing XY settings folder and let XY create a new one and the problem seems to go away, so there must a setting or a tweak or combination that triggers it. Annoyingly, I switched back to my original settings folders and now I can't reproduce the behaviour! This just proves my theory that computers were invented to drive us mad. :veryconfused:

I can't repro it (n)either with your settings. So let's blame it on computers.
