Can the 'Back' button do this....

Hi,
Since XYPlorer is so customizable, I was wondering if it would be possible to have the Back button make the Content Area I return to, show the exact same view instead of taking me always to the top of the Content Area.
For example, I have a large collection of mp3s that I'm browsing thru looking for specific songs. So I'm going down alphabetically and as I find stuff, I open that folder to have a listen. I then hit the back button and instead of returning me to the same view I had before - let's say around letter F - it always returns me to the top of the page, letter A! I then have to scroll down all the way back to the letter F and then find the specific folder I was in fact just viewing so I can then go on to the next. Quite tedious :-S

Is there any way that when I hit the Back button, it just goes back to where I was before?

Not by the back button, but via scripting (and a new button for it).

Oh, oK. I wouldn't know how to do that. So unless some has a script for that, that they can share (and explain me how to make it work too!), I'll have to do without it then :-S

Mh, when I use the back button I'm taken back to the last view with the same item selected when I left it.

Do me a favor and use a fresh instance of XY and try it again.

in the address bar and hit enter.

Actually, it would be okay with me if this behavior applied to general browsing too....
If I browse in a folder, then leave the folder, then come back to the folder, I usually want to go back to the same item I was previously at (rather than going back to the top of the folder). Strictly speaking though, I don't think I'd call it a View setting.... More like "Persistent highlighting = Yes," and "Default scroll = To highlighted item."

Ok, I'll be 100% honest. I was actually kind of looking for the same thing you just described kunkel321. It's just that highend revealed to me through his solution what I was doing wrong or rather, what I could do to get it 'right' according to my needs. What I was doing, was exactly what you described (I guess?). I would click in the area where the red arrows points to:


...and that would invariably take me to the root of that Context Area/File List (or whatever it should be called), and not to where I was..."highlighting" previously?? which might have been much further down.

However, thanks to highend's help, I realised that I was in fact thinking 'back button' when I was clicking where that red arrow points to. While in fact clicking the actual real 'Back' button DOES take me back to my previous view/highlighted area!! So now, I just do that, use the back button function of my mouse! :-)
Still, it would be cool to be able to get the same results by clicking the red pointed area above, rather than to sometimes have to click the back button 10 times or more get back to where I want without disturbing the 'view/highlight'.

Yea, I might have to start training myself to use the actual Back button too.
It's the "Breadcrumb Bar," btw. I almost always use the breadcrumb bar for jumping around. Or the "Favorites" button on the toolbar... Or the "Session Manager" script that Flux made (see the Script Share subforum).

EDIT: Actually I was just experimenting with SessionManager, and it does save the highlighted item and scroll position. Of course that wouldn't be applicable to moment to moment browsing. Still cool though.
