Hi,
Currently, it appears that XYplorer is only capable of seeing regular drives and some system folders as "desktop", "my documents" but in my compuer there are few of them which are not listed there, is it normal and how to remedy this ?
For example, XYp does not see the "mobile device" folder, (I have an pocket pc attached to my pc currently)), the "shared documents" folder, (containing, share music/video/pictures), my GMail pseudo drive, my windows live sharing folder, my nokia phone browser ...
So, to access them I'm obliged to open an explorer window ...

Re: How to access all items of my computer
Yes, true. Those "drives" and "folders" are actually so-called namespaces and not drives/folders in the traditional physical sense. XYplorer is lacking here, I have to admit.
You know, I'm not just wrapping a skin around some shell objects (like a lot of alternative file managers do) but I write the whole story from scratch. That gives me a lot of control, but it has some drawbacks. You just met one of them... This does not mean it is impossible to do. I just have to find out HOW...

You know, I have so many glorious productivity enhancements in mind for the coming versions, which for me have a higher priority than adding support for a digital camera which you can just as well manage with Explorer. I don't hate Explorer (Okay, I don't use it either
Yes, I call XYplorer a "Explorer replacement", but that's just a tag to make people find it. XYplorer is mainly a productivity tool that makes file management easy, fast, and fun. So, when the average usage time per person on Wakoopa for XYplorer is low, then I have reached my goal: XYplorer gets the job done quicker.

Re: How to access all items of my computer
so, maybe for v8 ?
I know some apps, including freewares (didn't check if some were open-source) able to do this for PocketPCs.
Maybe they're not low-level as you do, but maybe they are and you could check into their code ? Not sure if it would address the whole thing or just windows mobile browsing..

This item becomes more and more relevant - for me too.
Not only Gmail, but also Humyo client and Enfold Desktop client (tool for filemangement in Plone).
Regards (and thanks for XYplorer ;-)

IF/WHEN I add the Recycle Bin all this stuff will work as well. I just cannot say when exactly that will be...nudnavda wrote:This item becomes more and more relevant - for me too.
