Rename Special in the context menu

How to remove this item in the context menu ? I found a an option somewhere and unticked it
but it still shows up in the context menu (xy 15.

In Tools > Configuration | Menus, Mouse, Safety | Context Menus, then click either the Folder Tree... or File List... button to modify the custom context menu items shown for the respective control.

There are a dozen or more choices in the right-click "Send-To" menu that are not in the Windows system "Send To" folder. I also use "SendTo Toys" to help manage the items.

WHERE does XYPlorer get all the other items in that menu? I find no way to eliminate them, and like I said, they are NOT in the Windows system "Send To" folder. And they do not show in Windows Explorer when I use the Send To feature.

Any Help?

If so, it appears that for some reason it includes all of the directories in the user directory (%userprofile% i.e. C:\Users\<username>). As to why that would have to be answered by Don or Mesh.

If not, then it should just be the items in your "Send To" directory plus any attached volumes, and that is the case in my experience.

I can confirm the phenomenon, but cannot explain it. Only Mesh can...

I also see an item "Copy as Path" (German: "Als Pfad kopieren") in XYplorer's 64-bit context menu. This item is missing from Explorer's 64-bit context menu. Weird.

Sounds like you've (or more likely Send to Toys has) somehow configured Windows to not show it then - at least not for 32-bit programs or in a way which the 64-bit context menu ignores.

I have no problems with Windows Explorer and the Send To context menu. I use that menu a lot so that is why I still only use XYPlorer for some specialty work. Otherwise, I make the switch completely. Although you can't stop other apps from opening WinExplorer rather than XYP.

It's not doing that on my virtual machine (because it's visible in the x86 context menu of XY).

Two things:
- This program does weird things to the OS...
Navigate to %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo
and look at the properties of "Command Prompt.lnk"

The target directory resolves to: ...program files(x86)\...
while the execute in dir resolves to ...program files\...

instead.

Opening the same folder in Windows Explorer and doing the same there
the target directory resolves (correctly) to ...program files\...

- The OS takes part in resolving shortcuts in SendTo as well
because entries like "Mail Recipient.MAPIMail" are resolved to the client's language

That it works in WE and the 64-bit context menu hints that it might not work for 32-bit programs. You could try it in another 32-bit program - possibly even the Open/Save dialog of C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Notepad.exe - for comparison.

Beyond that the problem is there are a lot of registry keys which can affect the behavior and I haven't a clue what all Send To Toys could be modifying and I'd venture it's not the only Windows configuration utility you are using.

It works here and you're the first report I recall of it not working, so it is increasingly likely that the problem lies in your Windows configuration.

- Three drop handlers which refer to the SendToFolderShellExt.dll file
- The SendTo entries that were chosen during the install process
- Entries for Directory + Drive + exefile\shell to be used as default

A few more necessary (but unrelated) entries and nothing that looks like some kind of folder redirection...
