kinda funny thing(but not really): i was the one to ask for search in list of pathes, and it was granted with Search in List, but now i'm stuck with using it and need help.
i tried big number of variants composed with Help file examples, still can't do simple thing: make a check thought Tag database(meant switch /t in quicksearch) if any of the <selitems |> are there and save those in var. can anyone give me a tip?

Can you try explaining what you're trying to accomplish again?

basically it's like this: after i selected some items in list i want to find all tagged/labeled/commented items among them(recursively). <selitems |> should handle selected items, qiucksearch() looks for "tagged", and switch /t in my example ought to force search through tag-database only(making it much faster). either i'm doing something wrong, or something is broken, 'cause i'm sure by Help file in must work.

i already have an old/long way of doing this by getting items list and checking them with tag() one by one. but as i said it's slow, and due to new things Don made, new way should be superb.

yet, don't take it as offend(btw many thanks for taking your time!), but it's again "old ways". though i need to accomplish my search-task, i'm really interested in this new mechanic introduced, but it seems will have to wait for Don to come back.

Essentially, filter the current selection to just those that are tagged?

Maybe there is a better way to search for tagged items, but I gave up trying and opted for inverting a search for those not tagged.

As an actual quick search this should work:

It seems Quick Search does not support the list/selected items shortcuts so if you want to use the quicksearch SC this should do:

Since you're searching through the selected items I'm not sure the '/t' switch really does much here, but you can experiment and report back.

In the next version SC quicksearch supports # and + in the path argument. This should work then:

want to clarify: !tags: "" -what does it mean logically? looks like double-No..
yet, as i'm not sure if it's clear, i'm aiming not on text = search results are desired in new tab, as usual.
strange anyway, i thought that with <selitems ;> such search is already possible. same with "search for tagged items in tag database".

It is a double-No.

Not items with no tags = Items with any tags.

ah, now i see= from the start of thread i remind that i'm looking for "all tagged items" = all present in tag database(meant labels and comments included). current version works for tags, confirmed, but i thought there must be easier way than making 3 checks/searches -just check if file is in database..
yet, i'm interested: isn't there a way to open results in Search-Tab like with Click and Search?

To see all items in the tag DB in the current location, simply do this Quick Search (results will be listed in the list):

Meaning is: Find all items in the DB that have tags or not (* means "anything or nothing"). Result: All items in the DB.

To see all items in the tag DB (in any location, i.e. the complete DB), use this via Address Bar:

FYI, the first * is an alias for "This PC".

i must say sorry, 'cause i probably got you bored already(or mad ), but again= i need to find all items present in database among those i selected.
in other words: i select some files and folders in list with mouse, then i need to find all tagged/commented/labeled among them(sub-folders included, so recursively).

and yeah, i know about ?tags:* , tried it with <selitems ;> =that was no luck.
