XY verrrry slow to open

Is there a way to determine what is causing XY to be very slow to start?
I used to see XY start in about 2 seconds. No it takes 75 seconds to start.
Any ideas what is wrong?

I found my problem.
I had a tab to a network drive that stalled the initialization.

Sorry to say that XY slowed down again. (See trace below).
This time, on my faster machine. It appears that the "Layout Window" is taking a long time.

What is Layout Window?
What could be causing that?

p.s.

I just figured out what was slowing me down. I had a category item that was pointing to a folder which I had erased.

Is there a way to configure XY so that it does NOT check the accessability of the category items at startup?
