Is there any plan to add support for ghost filtering based on attributes? It would allow me to do something I previously requested:
- Show files with System attribute
- Show files with Hidden attribute
- Hide files with both System and Hidden attributes (this emulates the "Hide protected operating system files" option in WE

On a side note, I was able to crash XY by adding
attr:system
to the ghost filter list with Run-time error '10': This array is fixed or temporarily locked
If you set Visual Filters to be retained across folders, then you can use

Code: Select all

!attr:H AND attr:S
Don, what's the difference between attr: and attrlist:?
Yep, I currently use

Code: Select all

"Hide System+Hidden" !attr:system and attr:hidden
but it would be great to be able to not interfere with other visual filters.

Looks like attrlist is a quick way to check multiple attributes, cool!

Crashes when I add:

attr:system

and click OK.
Got it, good bug! (Actually it was the d: and f:, not the attr:)

+ Ghost Filter: Now you cannot browse locations hidden by Ghost Filter. The
list will be blocked similar to browsing a location disallowed by Access
Control.
...
This does not work and I AM VERY HAPPY about it not working!!
I started using GF to hide all the unnecessary folders on our company server (in my XY-workstation-view) which I typically do not use.
(There are a LOT that would normally clutter my tree. I was using Mini-Tree because of that previously but it has other disadvantages.)
However, sometimes and occasionally I do need to browse the one or the other folder which I typically do not use.
I would prefer not having to turn GF off in this case.
I really feel GF and access control should stay too seperate things. Please.

Thx for your attention.

Thought about it and I think you are right. There is key DisallowedDirs in Admin.ini to do this.

So I will take it back.

Good morning Don,

Obviously I do not need to browse the hidden folders often, therefore I just now noticed that I still (or again ? - can't remember) cannot browse the folders hidden by GF. I get redirected to the first visible root folder, as it seems.

Regards

Hmm, works here. In Mini Tree the folder is even shown in the tree. In Maxi Tree you can only see the contents in the list.
