Copy across panes but not into subfolder

Hi,

Perhaps I am missing a setting or doing something wrong, but I am constantly subjecting myself to unwanted copying behavior in xyplorer.

Here the scenario:
I am doing some work in one of the panes and have a subfolder highlighted.
I navigate to the other pane and copy a file, I tab over to the original pane and do a paste.
The file is pasted into the highlighted subfolder and not the main folder.

I just became aware of 'Copy to Other Pane' (Ctrl-F6), but is there a way to assure that my naïve copy procedure will paste into the root of the target pane and not the highlighted subfolder?

Disable Menu >Tools > Configuration > Controls and More > Miscellaneous > Paste to selected list folder
afaik, it's default state is disabled.

Is config>general>controls and more>misc>"paste to selected list folder" checked?
Uncheck it and try.
