format conversion copying to smartphone

I often copy mp4 files to my smartphone. I am always asked if I want to convert the file to a different format or just copy it as is. Since I never want to convert a file before copying, I would like to stop getting this annoying query every time. Is this possible?

That's built into the MTP, or rather the driver you're using.
