Windows 7 question

After installing some parts of Windows are still using the old explorer.
How can I go in and globally change Windows so that XYPlorer will be
used instead of Windows Explorer.

One specific case is when I go to save a file to my hard drive the viewer I get
is of the old explorer, I want it to be XYPlorer.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium and the file explorer in this version
of windows is TERRIBLE, even when moving, copying, or saving a file.
