Icons for user-defined buttons

Post by Patrick Schönbach »

Hello,

where do I find a collection of icons suitable for user-defined buttons? Does XYplorer include a collection or where can I find a suitable selection of good icons?
Regards,
Patrick

Here are some in this thread...

Edit. Fatcow has added more icons since then. 3700 now, I think. I will combine and add them later.

btw, you can also use XYplorer's own default button icons. Goto customize toolbar by right-clicking a user-defined button aka CTB, then button names will have a short caption in square brackets like [savesett]. Use this caption, minus the brackets, and prefixed with a : as your ctb's icon, for example, :savesett

I ususally get mine from here:
http://findicons.com/search/book#ajax
Adjust size and type on the left sidebar. Works fine as long as you don't download too many at a time.
Things have become much easier with the new support for gif and png formats.

Now that pngs are supported, you can find great icons that are relevant to file management etc inside the iconthemes at any of the linux theme sites, such as
http://gnome-look.org/index.php?xcontentmode=121
http://opendesktop.org/index.php?xsortm ... x8604x8725
