Hi all,
I'm on V15.10.0000 and I've noticed a Cut/Paste only copies a file(s) and doesn't always move it. This was a previous topic some years (2006) back about a similar/same issue that supposedly was corrected (http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=847).
Here's what doesn't work:
1. If I select a file, right click/cut, select a folder and then paste it into a folder (w/out opening the folder) the file is copied, not moved.
2. If I do a right click/cut, select folder, hit control/right click and Paste Special/Move, I get a message that says I "Cannot move an item into its own folder" (Or something like that).
And here's what does work:
1. If I left click on a file and drag it to a folder (assuming the folder is visible in the file/folder list), it moves
2. If I select a file, press control/right click/cut then select (left click) the folder, right click/paste, the file moves
3. If I select a file, right click/cut, select/open folder then right click paste, the file moves
So while there are numerous ways to move a file, the way I'm used to doing it (select/right click/cut file, select/right click/paste folder) is not working the same way in XYplorer.
Do I have this correct? Am I the only one experiencing this? If so, what might I be doing wrong. Also, the link to the posting I provide at the beginning of this post indicates it would be fixed. Did I misread it?
Love XYplorer and appreciate any feedback.
Thanks and cheers....

Re: Cut/Move (old topic?)
All fine here. Cannot reproduce any such problems.
Are you working with the 64-bit context menu?

Not sure what you mean by "64-bit context menu". I downloaded/installed the only version I can see is available. I am on Win 7, 64-bit. Is there something else I need to know/understand?
Thanks....

Edit: Just found this under Other/64-bit Windows. The boxes are checked for both "Show the real System32 directory" and "Show the 64-bit context menu" options. Should either/both be unchecked?
Thanks....

Re: Cut/Move (old topic?)
It does not make a difference here, but you might try to uncheck "Show the 64-bit context menu". Just a shot into the dark...

Re: Cut/Move (old topic?)
Actually, it did work. Unchecked the box and Cut/Paste is now a move function. Rechecked the box and Cut/Paste was back to a Copy/Paste function.
Thanks for the help.

Re: Cut/Move (old topic?)
Good and strange. As I said before it works fine here with any setting.
