Don,
It would be very useful to see an archive file (zip, rar, etc.) as a folder.
Not only to see the content but to open or drag & drop the content just as you would in a folder. Perhaps this could be an option that could be turned on or off. If the option is off, it would be good to see the content of the archive file in preview.
Thanks

Hi and welcome to XY forums!
I'm presuming by your new thread/post that you haven't really looked for/at any history about this topic here?

Because...had you done so, you would have found numerous topics and posts about this same thing...adding your wish to one of the more recent ones would have worked just as well to get attention...now, I'm not at all picking on ya, ok? Just asking that you do a bit of research before adding new thread, if you would, please...it makes it easier to keep track of things here....thanks!

Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

<blush> I'm feeling guilty myself - I seldom think to search for similar ideas or questions...a lightbulb goes off in the newbie head of mine...and I have to write before I forget. I will try to do same: search first. It's not easy being new...there is so much verbage to wade thru (plus a totally different Explorer screen to learn/hunt/peek/peck). BUT I do understand that keeping things in one area makes it better for management...and doesn't waste people's time if the subject has already been addressed somewhere. But, it's kinda hard.
So much enthusiam for us newbs and so little time.
Hang in there, Daddyman.
I like the way you clearly expressed your thoughts. AND that you are thinking. It's more fun that way. And lively forums tell me a lot about a program... I tend to buy if I think programs are actively being improved/have active members. So, for me, your post was way cool. It's all new to me.
WELCOME.
Newbie Brenda

Brenda, having been a newbie to XY about 15 months ago, I can still relate to your feelings (hopefully!)...and I'll also agree that search can also be a pain at times, given the limitations of phpBB forum search, but when there were somewhat unique terms, such as zip, rar or archive, that's why I was wondering why yet another thread on it...
When one doesn't know what terms to search for, as XY has some unique names for things(
), or they are SO common that one would get hundreds of matches, that's when a post here can be a great way to find/resolve the issue...but to reduce the overhead of extra threads, a quick look thru last couple of months can sometimes eliminate the need for a new thread, or instead: a new post to an old thread works just as well.
