Catalog items to directly launch items?; Keyboard shortcuts

Post by srikat »

1) I added an exe to the catalog and want to know if it's possible to directly execute it when I click.

What's happening currently is that I am being taken to that folder w/ that file selected and I have to press the return key.

2) How do I assign F8 to create a new folder (ctrl+N should work as well)?
How do I assign F7 to create a new file (ctrl+shift+N should work as well)? (I am migrating from xplorer2)

Welcome to XY forums!
I wanted to give you a prompt reply, but please note that I'm still not an expert at all parts of XY...

Regarding item #2: This may relate to your query: Customizable keyboard shortcuts are still a work-in-progress, so you may not be able to do same level of customizing yet as another product, but when it's done shortly, I'd believe you can do as much and likely more than other products.

Adding CKS to existing product is a MAJOR task, and Don is adding it a bit at a time to make sure that no major bugs occur, so he's working his way thru the various menus...
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.

Open the item's context menu (right-click) in the Catalog, select Properties, check "Open on Click". Done. :)

Soon you get the possibilty to add your desired shortcut...
