Hello,
I've been using Powerdesk for years but have grown increasingly dissatisfied with it lately and have been looking for a replacement. I'd read great things about XYplorer for a long time, but it was Zaine Ridling's rants that excited me enough to try it out.
I have to say that I'm impressed, but there are two things that may prevent me from making the jump. The first, lack of built-in archive support, I see from the forums is a (for me, shockingly) low priority, despite many requests.
The second seems to be a bug. I make heavy use of GMail Drive, a shell extension that makes my GMail account look like a disk drive that I can store files on. In Powerdesk, Windows Explorer, and Winbrowser (a 7-year old WE replacement), the file tree shows an additional drive labeled "GMail Drive" that I can drag & drop files to & from. However, this drive doesn't appear in the XYplorer tree. Is this indeed a bug?
Whether or not I wind up buying the product, I appreciate all the great work that has gone into it and the community around it.
Thanks and best wishes,
dg
GMail Drive incompatibility?

Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).
We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.
When attaching an Image, please use the Attachment tab at the bottom of your post and click "Add files".

Re: GMail Drive incompatibility?
I wouldn't call it a bug -- rather a lack of support for Shell Namespace Extensions. There have been more requests for this in recent times, and I will do something about it in future. But beware: some other things will be done first.
And welcome to XY! It's "closed source but open mind".
