Strange, with WE it is working just like with any other folder.
Yes, I meant *in XY* because I'm too lazy to add it. (You see, with a lag of a couple of seconds until the file is actually existing, how should I do this? one day I will see the way)

Woah. I thought you were stumped a bit on this and then BAM you start throwing X and Y all over the place with the recent betas!

Anyway, congratulation! Now you can take a break I guess since the end is in sight!

Yes, by all means take a break! You have accomplished something that no other file manager(that I am aware of) can do.
lotsamosi wrote: I am so hopeful that you can get this to work! I haven't been able to find any file manager that can do this other than Windows Explorer. I promise you that if you do I will purchase the full version of XYplorer.
I am able to browse files and transfer them back and forth from my computer to my phone. So I will keep my promise to you and purchase a lifetime license when I get paid next.

Weekend comes around and finds me all revved up to try my luck with this new feature. Starting out low and easy with a run-of-the-mill device, Canon Ixus. It comes up niceley, first impression, great 8) :appl:

I hit F5 to copy. Don't get to see the thumbs of identical file-names that I am used to from custom copy. I decide to play it safe and cancel the generic Win copy dialog, better take a look at those pics first. After hitting Cancel I get

Very international and ZEN-like
Any plans to implement custom copy? It were useful, imo.

Custom copy is not possible (no way).

"F5 to copy" -- what is F5 assigned to in your configuration?

The reason I sought refuge in custom copy = to keep the time stamps of my pics. ATM the creation dates are not kept by XY. In contrast to other tools, XY messes with the file dates upon copying. Any remedy for that?

Use Backup instead of Copy. With correct settings it keeps Created, too.

Edit: Ouhh - just saw we are under "Portable Devices"
Don't know if that's possible here...

What other tools for example?

To stick with my camera example - Adobe lightroom and bridge - but I am not on my home turf right now. Freeware FastStone is available, just ran 2 trials - with a compact Panasonic camera - yep - it also keeps the file date, modified date, that is, good enough though for sorting and backup purposes and such.

FYI, these things work now in PD:
+ Find Files (Name, Size, Modified, Attributes). No search results caching.
+ Quick Search (Name, Size, Modified, Attributes).
+ Visual Filters (Name, Size, Modified, Attributes).
+ Color Filters (Name, Size, Modified, Attributes).

I will later post a complete list of things that work and that don't work.

OK, so if I read you correctly, I was not supposed to use "copy to other pane". Officially it's not yet supported, the current features are meant to browse PDs, not for actual transfers of their content.

It's a bug that will be fixed.
