I scanned through all my ancient VMs but the oldest version I've found is the mspdb60.dll. Sorry...

Don't know. It probably depends on the version of VS. I don't know which version it should be. The web is mysteriously mysterious about this.

the file version changes with each install. I'm quite sure latest VS won't have the file.

ed: VS8:mspdb80.dll, VS14:mspdb140.dll...

Meanwhile, I downloaded it from http://www.nodevice.com/dll/MSPDB41_DLL/item11861.html
Rename it to *.dll

Looks like it worked. At least the error went away, it compiled, and the size looks alright!

Puuh. I was already taking a glimpse into the abyss of total failure. Not a nice view.

Now back to work... (working on doing something useful with the files on portable devices that is...)
