Can't find a PASTE function

Post by spinner »

If I open a folder in TV3 so that the folder contents are loisted in the right hand pane then I find I can drag files from the desktop to the white space (below the listing).

But if I do a 'Copy' on a file on the desktop then when I right click in the same white space as described above, TV3 does not have a 'Paste' option.

Seems odd to me.

I can understand TV3 not being able to paste to a screen which is displaying the results of a search but not being able to paste to a white space which I can drag&drop to seems odd.

Is this an oversight or is it by design?

Is it possible to include this facility in a future version?

It is by design actually, but not on purpose, of course. It's inherent in the way TV3 is built. I admit that it seems odd and I'll think about some workaround.

Well, it was easier than I thought. Please get the latest BETA (v3.60.0134) check it thoroughly! There should not be any surprises with file operations... not in a file manager ;) . But, as far as I see, it works alright.

I will say that if you try and copy a file and paste it in the same directory , you will get an error message saying that there is already a file with that name. (This only happens with the 'new' paste function). Any chance of emulating Explorer behaviour eg. If you copy a file and paste it in the same place, the new file will be called 'copy of blah.jpg'.?

Yeah, there was a chance and I took it. See latest BETA.
