Don,
After seventeen years, XYplorer seems to be a well oiled machine. It's the most exciting piece of software I've used in a while. The most impressive things from a development point of view are how beta releases are pretty much as stable as major releases, and just how many moving parts there are (code, documentation, translations, forum, website).
I would love a bit insight into your development environment. Such as version control, automated testing, IDE, text editor, issue management, Windows extensions, whatever. You're the only developer, right? It's written in C++?

Re: Don: Your development environment?
No, this speed would be impossible with C++. I use the best rapid development language that ever existed: VB6. I know it has a bad reputation but that just proves that the majority opinion is bullshit. And it's actually one of my incentives to prove that.
OK, a bit closer to reality: VB is just the skeleton. Almost everything that XYplorer does is done through pure Windows API. That's why XY is so fast.
