:info: Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

:info: We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

Find Files and Quick Search return different results

Post by mannycastaneda »

I'm not sure if this is a bug or if I just don't know what I'm doing. I created a Quick Search string and inserted it as an item in a Catalog category. When I activate the search, it finds no results on the current folder. However, when I go down to the Info Panel and manually click Find Now (the parameters were filled in by the Quick Search) it now displays results. See the linked screencast below for a demo

Try only this:
size: <= 100MB /r
:oops:

Code: Select all

size: >= 100MB /r
white spaces matter.

It worked! (Using >=, of course). It's interesting how the parser on the Quick Search is finicky on the spaces but the Find Files isn't. Either way, thanks for your help!

Did not watch the video, but I don't think there is a difference in parsing. It's the same code for both.

the truly erroneous part was the *.* in the used pattern.

Code: Select all

*.* size: >= 100MB /r
