So I loaded Vista today (god, I hate it), and after installing XYplorer, I received an error dialog indicating that it could not locate the following component:
MSVBVM50.DLL
I reinstalled as "vista" suggested but no XYplorer. I don't expect it to run in Vista yet since it's only been released for a week. But Vista Explorer is the worst god-awful crap I've ever suffered. (Okay, well, WinFax was pretty bad.)

READ THIS AND DO IT!!!
Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).
We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.
When attaching an Image, please use the Attachment tab at the bottom of your post and click "Add files".

I'm a tiny bit surprised to read this posting from you, as XY has been running almost perfect (except for a small context menu issue) on Vista from what I read in posts by others here...but you've run into probably THE most common issue with XY (and some other similar app's)...see another posting (with solution) about this same thing here:

BTW, from the counts shown, it appears this is my 1000th posting here!
Yikes! I guess I need to get out of the house more often!

Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

So they don't ship it anymore, tz tz tz... Well, this is the official (doesn't it look very official?) download URL for it:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... us;Q180071
Some blood brothers here in the forum are using XY on Vista already. So you all had to go and get msvbvm50.dll manually???

You definitely earned a time out (it will probably even boost your creativity). Not only for your non-stop stream of valuable and elaborate postings, but also for your additions and typo hunting in the wiki: Thanks, man!!!j_c_hallgren wrote:BTW, from the counts shown, it appears this is my 1000th posting here!![]()

No I just continued using the same install folder from Win2K. I also copied the dll file into the XY folder.

Thanks for the link. I've seen it here, but had forgot about it, I'm sorry. A 2-second search would have prevented it.
All I can say is that Vista's 'Explorer' is the most inefficient/godawful monster I've come across. Microsoft should just give Don a few €billion for a license to use XYplorer. Just don't sell out. (But if they did that, who design their ugly software!)
