The "up", "down" and "sort" buttons in favorite folders and favorite files of list management are grayed out. I hope i did not miss anything.
Also, after Richard's post (here), I thought maybe it would be useful to have a browse button in some of the LM windows too (like fav folder, move/copy/paste etc), for easy addition of paths. I say this because personally I have never typed-in any path manually.

Re: Some buttons grayed in list management
They're disabled for a simple reason: they don't apply here. Favorites are always/automatically sorted alphabetically by XY, mainly because it's easier to fid what you want that way and because they used to only be dealt with using "Toggle" feature (before LM)surrender wrote:The "up", "down" and "sort" buttons in favorite folders and favorite files of list management are grayed out. So even if you reorder them using the Editor Mode, it won't actually stick, they'll be sorted as soon as you valide them.

No that won't work, since they are automatically sorted by XY. Or it would mean change the way they work now, which IMHO would not be a good ideasurrender wrote:1) Make "up", "down" and "sort" available for fav folder and fav files available, for people who might want to arrange items the way they want.
Well, that's why they're disabled when editing those lists (fav. folders & files) : cause they don't work here!surrender wrote:2) Remove those grayed buttons from fav folder and fav files since they have no function there.
(Although for consistency's sake maybe both those & the Hints button should behave the same, so either disabled or disappeared but not mixed?)

Actually for me it isnt a great deal because I use Catalog anyway. But I thought it would bring in some amount of flexibility since it is hard-coded for alphabetical listing.jacky wrote:No that won't work, since they are automatically sorted by XY. I meant to say "REMOVE" them, but I guess Don opted to gray them out to make it consistent with other LM lists, which makes sense.jacky wrote: Well, that's why they're disabled when editing those lists (fav. folders & files) : cause they don't work here!

Re: Some buttons grayed in list management
FYI: I posted this as a wish at http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?t=1363 and it's now in latest beta with additional goodies! (Just posting a cross-link here for follow-up)surrender wrote:Also, after Richard's post (here), I thought maybe it would be useful to have a browse button in some of the LM windows too (like fav folder, move/copy/paste etc), for easy addition of paths. Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
