Is it possible to have just one folder sorted by folders apart, the rest of the folders not sorted apart? Or is it a universal command? I want to have a paper folder sorted by folders apart. But not have to select it in Sort by/Sort folders apart because then every folder is sorted this way.
Thanks.
Sort folders apart
Re: Sort folders apart
It's a universal command. Either all or nothing.
Paper folders support manual sorting (at least) so you could do what you want (but with no automation)...

Re: Sort folders apart
You could try sort column Attr.
It will separate folders from files.
If you have the Pro edition you could use the following script.
It surmises that you have your paper folder open in an unlocked tab
because it will close it and reopen in new tab.

Code: Select all
"sort paper folder"
$pf = tab("get", "path");
$pf = replace($pf, "paper:", "");
sortby Attr, a;

$listFiles = get("SelectedItemsPathNames", , a) ;
sel i;
$listFolders = get("SelectedItemsPathNames", , a) ;
$FullList = $listFolders <crlf>$listFiles ;
tab("close") ;
writefile("<xypaper>\$pf.txt", $FullList, , );
#340 ; // open new tab
goto "paper:$pf";
sortby Index, a;totmad1 (totally mad one)
Re: Sort folders apart
Glad to be of help.
To all, don't be afraid to ask, this is without a doubt
the best forum for help on the internet.
Of course it also has the best developer.

Re: Sort folders apart
Greetings: I hate to be late to the party, but I have folders NOT sorted apart, but force any file or folder to the top of the list by having an exclamation point (!) as the first character of its name. Very easy and no scripts required (unless the presence of the punctuation mark bothers you). Doc
