A small edit box next to the address bar (just like quick search in windows explorer) where you have a predefined list of apps, locations, links etc, and each item has labels/tags, by typing in the edit box explorer will list matches in a dropdownmenu based on fuzzy search in tags/labels and item path itself.
There are few apps to do this on the internet, I even wrote one, but it would be great to have it in XYplorer.

Type to find (launcher)
Re: Type to find (launcher)
I've been using program launchers for quite some time and currently use Find And Run Robot (FARR) and was using Executor prior to that so it's second nature to me to invoke FARR to browse to folders using that, but, of course, they open in WE. Whilst reading the XYplorer help file, I realised that using the command line function I could integrate FARR with XYplorer.
I created this user variable:
In order to browse to my 'websites' folder I set up this alias:
Now, I just need to type the websites trigger word and the folder opens up in XYplorer.

I created this user variable:
Code: Select all
XYplorer=D:\Dropbox\Apps\Xyplorer\XYplorer.exeCode: Select all
Open websites folder | %uservar.Aliases.XYplorer% "D:\xampp\htdocs"Now, I just need to type the websites trigger word and the folder opens up in XYplorer.

Re: Type to find (launcher)
Yeah, many more of those are out there, but it would be nice to have it in XYplorer.
That's why this thread is under wishes.
