I'm using version 14.10.0100
I can't get the column sorting to persist. it's on Modified Descending and I can't get it to stay on a different sort order. Whether I click on a column to sort it, or I go through the View menu, the sort order keeps resetting to Modified Descending when I navigate to a different folder, move up a folder, go into a sub-folder, etc. No matter what I do the sort order is always on Modified Descending. Event if I Exit with Saving the sort order resets to Modified Descending.
I've tried checking and unchecking the options for "Sort Folders Apart" but nothing seems to keep the sort order from resetting. This is beyond frustrating. Why is it so difficult to permanently change the sort order?

Re: Column sort order resets
update...
This issue is even more random than previously thought. I set the sort order Created Descending in the folder I need to work in, and I can go into a subfolder and the sort order is Created Descending, but when I switch back to the main folder in need to work in, the sort order is back to Modified Descending. I can go into any subfolder in this parent, and they are sorted to Created Descending, but the parent folder always resets to Modified Descending. I haven't configured anything that would make this parent folder stay on some permanent sort order. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Do you have "Folder View Settings" enabled? (View->Folder View Settings->Enable Folder View Settings: is this checked?)
If so then you may have saved an FVS for that parent folder in question.
