"Date" tab: is it possible to add option "AT

Post by Leopoldus »

Hi, Donald!
Tracker's Date tab has got now much more convenient, thanks!
But once more request (users are very greedy: more you give them, more they whish from you :)
It is uncomfortable now to search some file which was modified/created/accessed at some exact date or time. You see, you need a file which is last modified as you exactly remember at 01.01.2000 or surely yesterday, you have no option to assign this date directly as a search criteria, but you have to assign dates interval (between and and) with the both identical margins. And more, you have to insert time as well ("00:00:00" and "00:00:00"), although time is not needed for this searh.
Would it be very difficult to add once more button/option in "Date" tab (you have enough free space there now): (Exactly) At the following date" [/i].

I think it would be an overkill to add a new interface just for that very specific task. How often do you look for files from one certain day? Also it's not correct that you have to enter the times as well: if you just enter a date without times, "00:00:00" will be added automatically.

The good news is, I can offer you a more flexible approach within the existing interface: entering "days to add" into the And field. For example:
Between: 12.02.2005
And: 1 [= 1 day]
would find all files between 12.02.2005 00:00:00 and 13.02.2005 00:00:00.

Could also do units:
Between: 12.02.2005
And: 8m [= 8 months]

Could also do negative numbers:
Between: 12.02.2005
And: -2y
would find all files from the 2 years before 12.02.2005!

What do you think of that?!

Alright, check it out, Leopoldus! For your specific wish it's enough to just enter a "1" into the and/plus-field because I made days ("d") the default unit.

cheers
