Is there a way to open all sub directory's right away?
So lets say, you have a January directory, filled with directory’s of the days, 1,2,3... When you hit the January directory and then use a shortcut key, that all subdirectory’s (all days in this example) open.
Greetings,
Steve

Re: open all subdirs?
You mean each in a tab?

Not in each tab no...
No, what I mean is that in the list, the first directory , when you click on the + to open the subdirectory’s, that also all other subdirectory’s open within that directory (and the subdirectory’s of the subdirectory’s and so on...), one idea I had is for example, ctrl-click on the +sign to also open subdirectory’s.
And also, to display all files within all subdirectory’s, a workaround is to search for all files within all subfolders (my spell checker is saying subfolders is a wrong word here, that’s why I say subdirectory) but it shouldn’t look search for files, just display them, and I have seen this is possible, but I don’t know what file manager did it...
And another one: making it possible to select files by checkboxes.
Greetings,
Steve

Ok I think you're talking about the Tree here, so yeah holding Shift while clicking on the plus/minus sign might be a nice trick indeed to fully expand/collapse a branch.itsme28m wrote:No, what I mean is that in the list, the first directory , when you click on the + to open the subdirectory’s, that also all other subdirectory’s open within that directory (and the subdirectory’s of the subdirectory’s and so on...), one idea I had is for example, ctrl-click on the +sign to also open subdirectory’s.
Right now this can be done by right-clicking on the folder and using the menuitems "Fully Expand" or "Fully Collapse", or you can use the keyboard shortcut (Tree must be focused obviously) : numpad multiply (*) to fully expand, and numpad divide (/) to fully collapse.
When you're on a folder, you can easilly run such a search to display all items in the folder & its subfolders, simply by pressing Ctrl+F3, or menu Edit/Shown All Items In Branch (Note that this item is also on the List' context menu)itsme28m wrote:And also, to display all files within all subdirectory’s, a workaround is to search for all files within all subfolders

Right now, my Win Expl and XY appear to handle both Shift and Cntl when clicking on a plus/minus the same way...my question is: If we're going to expand on that ability, which key are (ex) WE users most likely to use to do the limited expand just as it does now? I'm not 100% sure....something to consider?
BTW, on my keyboard, to do a NumPad Multiply (since there is no separate Num pad), I have to use my blue "Fn" key plus the zero/right paren/multiply key, so doing a Shift or Cntrl + click is a bit easier.

Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

Once again, time from request to implement is just about a day!
Tried the newest beta with this tweak...works fine...and I'm sure I'll be using it for certain folders quite often...thanks!
