"Sort by" stuck on "Size"

In recent versions "Sort by" is stuck on "Size", I always had it on "Type", saving and restarting doesn't work. It will even revert to "sort by size" just by opening a different folder.

Any idea?

Sort a folder by type. Then select Main Menu->View->Folder View Settings->Define this Folder View as Default

I thought Don wrote/said thatthere's is no need for a default folder view for non-FVS folders because of the internal auto-default (which is just the current list style).

I think this whole list view configuration matter still is just a bit too confusing. For instance, a (optional) visual indicator for "FVS is applied" could come in very handy.

The FVS toolbar btn indicates FVS status.

Me too. There are just too many options to control the same view: FVS, tab, global, list type...
