Some yellow highlighted files and folders...

Post by klischee »

Hi

I tried to search forum and settings of XYplorer (14.20), but did not found an answer of the question why some folders are highlighted with a yellow background and a dark-red font color. The only yellow-backgrounded color I've found in the settings is for the tree, not for the list (details view). It seems all .exe-files are highlighted with this color-scheme, and for folders I can't find a system - some are, some are not. E.g. I have a directory with 10 usercreated folders and 8 of them are yellow, two not, but they are of the same way created by me with similar content.

What is this for and how can I deactivate it?

Color of file in the List comes from2 sources:
1) Config > Color filters
This auto color files if they meet certain criteria (i.e: .exe files; files >1GB...)
2) Label (Config > Tags)
If you manually Label a file (Show column > Label), the the color is config here

Thanks for your answer!

I deactivated both completely, "color filters" and "tags" but the .exe files and some folders are still highlighted..

Hi and welcome!

It's been way too long since I used a "fresh" install but have a recollection that there are a couple of setting by default that show certain folders/files that way to introduce some XY features to new users...but can't recall what those are...

Colors in the tree are also based on Highlighted and Boxed within Favorites...
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.

j_c_hallgren: Sorry I can't follow you :)

But I've found out that the folders which are highlighted this way have a ".com" at the end of their name (for example a folder named like "downloads from example.com") ..

So i can specify it better now: All .exe files and all folders with a .com suffix are highlighted.

Edit: Files with the extension ".com" also gets highlighted. Could it be some part of XYplorer thinks .com-folders are executable files? But even if it is so, why get executables highlighted, even if I deactivate color filters..?

Okay, :bug: . It should not color folders. I'll fix it after finishing the killer feature I'm currently working on... :ninja:

It's killer 2.0. It's totally insane. You won't use many of the other features anymore. It's THE feature.

Ah, thanks! It looked like the solution, but after I deleted the "Executables"-line the files and folders still get highlighted :eh:

Try this: Menu Go > GoTo
Then enter this into the dialog:

Code: Select all

It works! (But I don't have to understand this, right? :D)

Thanks at all for your fast & nice support.
