Catalog: Support for "-" separator

Post by Filehero »

Preface: I know there is a thread/post where this has been mentioned previously, but I can't find it.

Hi Don,

now that I can have sticky favorites thanks to the new layout options I really do miss support for the "-" separator by the catalog renderer. Any chance to get this supported soon? Maybe that's something for a half time break. :kidding:

Cheers,
Filehero

You would not like it: it would take a whole line height.

Didn't count the pixels, so: this is different from the pull-down menu provided by the standard CTB? Are there feasible other options, e.g. something similar to the Alternative Groups grid style?

Btw, what is the quickest way to update the category when the "master" fav list has been changed? I always re-create the category and delete the old one afterwards which makes me feel I miss something.

Das Beste: Mats spielt! :D

What about consuming the separator as a top or bottom border on the adjacent item?

A
-
B

Either gives A a bottom border or B a top border.

Granted at that point it would likely be better to offer border options+colors as item properties than to include a separator item.

Naah.

Why not simply color the first items of each section.

Was just another thought.

My work-around:
Caption = ________________|spacer.ico

Underscores look better than hyphens, IMO. The spacer.ico must be empty, of course (or fully transparent)

Hi,

Does anyone know if there is any advance/new functionality allowing better separator usage in catalog?

Thanks for info!

Next version an item that just has - (hyphen) as caption and no other data will be printed completely empty.
