Thanks Don for including the Menu Bar in SC loadlayout. Now we control everything... :) :appl:

Then the Tree and the Catalog should both have their correct, individual widths because they are no longer stacked. So in my example, a wide-ish Tree and a narrow-ish Catalog.
So, now the next step: move the list to the left. What should happen?

So you say the top element should control the width? Yes, that might work.

No, does not work. Else the width would change when changing the first item.

I'd say we leave it at that.

BTW, starting to like the Wide Tabs setting just for the cool looks (with BC! :P )! I hardly ever use Dual pane, and even though I don't have many tabs I'm already hooked on Wide Tabs.

ADD: Here is a shot (no that's not my real work environment :)):

Looks cool and useful too. On my work computer I have long folder names and now they feel so comfortable on the wide BC!

Same here for the tabs - a useful enhancement for tabs/tabset power users. Thanks!

BTW, I have switched off the BC all together - am looking forward to a v2.0 in which BC would react on a hover, without the need to click on it while traversing towards the final destination.

Same pic again with the new icons (I modified the icon colors a bit compared to v14.10.0115).

Should change Window->Show Navigation Panel to ...Panels.
It's misleading since the panels in question are really two different ones now.

Yes, probably a good point albeit pretty minor. I make a note for 14.30.

BTW, I wonder if people use this command. The original idea was to have a quick way to show the list only. Any comments?

On some rare occasion, I have used it - when I need to see some more columns on list briefly...
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.

Good. That's exactly the idea of it.
