So, is there any way to change the grid color? Transparent images with bright opaque colors are hard to make out against the bright grid.
See the attached img: a bright image, almost invisible, and the same one in black for comparison.
This applies to the thumbs view, previewpane, F11 preview, and pretty much everywhere thumbs are displayed.
Edit:fix typo in title

Re: changing thumbnails transparency grid
Found it: thumbnails->transparency grid.
Actually I'd tried it but forgot to refresh the thumbnails afterwards, so the cached thumbs with grids remained on.
It's a great idea, having manual thumbnails refreshes. Else thre would be a long delay eveytime something is toggled at thumbs config.

Was about to tell you that. But couldn't figure out how to change the color of the grid. How'd you do it?SammaySarkar wrote:Found it: thumbnails->transparency grid.

Re: changing thumbnails transparency grid
Um, I was just about to post about it.
I didn't change the grid color. But you probably meant the white bg that replaces the grid. I couldn't change that either.
So now I'm left with transparent imgs on a white bg. Solutions! !!

I dont have a solution. But I don't consider it a shortcoming, either. Not in a file manager.
I do see your point, however. The thumbnails you provided demonstrated it clearly. In fact, I don't use the black-white defaults in any of my graphics-related applications. But again, I don't expect this feature in a file manager. I'd much rather have the ability to see my zip-files in the list view or tweak other settings that apply to file-handling in general, not specific to a certain image type.

Well, I wouldn't have asked for it if this was any other app. XY is so advanced, these little things look like huge shortcomings.
Anyways, XY can do so many things with thumbs, custom grids should also be in there.

Re: changing thumbnails transparency grid
bump
I'd really love to use XY alone as my graphics browser, especially since it's had so many photo-related recent enhancements.
But non-customizable (if not adaptive) transparency grid colors is a major hindrance! For those of us who often work with transparency-enabled images
since my image attachments above were seemingly purged:
Here's what I see, with transparency grid off and on:
Here's what I so madly wish for:
pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease!
