Indent for category vs the items under it

I like the fact that you can now have an icon for the categories in the catalog as you can for the items within it (version v14.00.0115), but when you have an icon assigned, the category is indented too far to the right (i.e., further than the sub category items) for a typical menu structure. Was there an existing tweak to increase the indent for the items, and if not could the indent be changed? Another option which might be considered is to remove the + - expansion node for the category and have the expansion/contraction of the category accomplished by simply by clicking on it.

Yes, I see the problem, but the indenting was necessary, and removing the + - expansion node is not an option IMO. I will eventually find a better solution...
