Firing of TB dropdown entries
How do I make the TB-dropdowns behave like everywhere else: Hold down the left mouse, drag to browse, release mouse to trigger?
I managed the first first part (Fire click on mousedown), but then it makes me click again instead of registering the mouse release.

Re: Firing of TB dropdown entries
Hmm, didn't this work under XP (cannot test it now)? But now under Win8 it does not and there is no way to change this. Cannot do anything.

Nope. Not working on XP, Vista, Win7.admin wrote:Hmm, didn't this work under XP (cannot test it now)?
It works in every other file manager (those that support user TB dropdowns) and all other programs.
So there must be a way to make this work?
The real problem is the tiny font size of the dropdowns in XY. That's what turns it into a problem. Try tapping a touchpad a second time and you know immediately what I am talking about. With entries so tiny and packed together, you won't be able to keep your exact position for the second tap. Same thing for pen tablets.

Re: Firing of TB dropdown entries
tiny font size ? The menu font size is controlled system wide AFAIK. It is the same in every app, isn't it?

Code: Select all

* All right click menus now allow using the right click to trigger
menu items.

Re: Firing of TB dropdown entries
Not talking menu, but TB dropdowns. Don't know how others handle it, maybe they don't use the tooltip or whatever system setting is responsible for that. We already had this talk (I think) and there was nothing could be done about it. Learned to live with it on my HD screens by using smart Screen Loupes. But the touchpad or tablet does not get to see the magnified version, it triggers the actual real-size pixel locations, and misfires the "wrong" entry.admin wrote:The menu font size is controlled system wide AFAIK. Re: Firing of TB dropdown entries
Well, yes, sure, but you should be able to see it yourself, unless you cranked up your system font size. Besides, it's much more convincing to accidentally trigger the wrong entry yourself. If you don't have a touchpad, try a really lousy sloppy regular mouse-click.admin wrote:Do you have a screenshot of this?
BTW, been talking HD screens all along, the situation may be less severe (or no problem at all) on screens below HD. But I have no equipment to check up on this.

Re: Firing of TB dropdown entries
I have 1920 x 1080 and did not change the system defaults. All looks normal in XY.

Well, what can I say? Other than "normal" being a relative term.
This is what an abnormal app looks like in direct comparison:
I'd be happy, however, if you could do bring back the mouse-up triggering of dropdown entries.

Re: Firing of TB dropdown entries
Well, apparently you are running the "Classic" theme in Windows. Your choice...

Re: Firing of TB dropdown entries
Well, not really my choice, but that's work-related and off topic.
You seem to indicate the situation were different if I did NOT use the classic design. But when I try an Aero design , I don't see a difference at all. Except for colors and transparency, the screenshots above look exactly the same (in terms of font size and spacing between entries).
What Windows design do I have to choose to get the desired effect in XY?

Re: Firing of TB dropdown entries
What you say surprises me. Classic is totally different from all other designs. I cannot answer your question.
This is how it looks in Win 8:

Anyway, it really looks OK on your shot, so I guess I have to run a default config and then see. Will do that later, too busy at the moment.
Hey, thanks a ton for fixing the mouse-release trigger. This takes care of the problem, at least on my Sony note. Full HD but on 13 " !!!
Guy next to me has even tinier fonts, he's on a Fujitsu Lifebook. Rules out many tools that don't offer big TB icons.
Your response time to user feedback (and following through on it) is superb. Outstanding.

Re: Firing of TB dropdown entries
That was a bad bug. That it went undetected (including by myself) for almost 1 year does not make my day. Thanks for spotting it!
