IFilters
I will add a checkbox to the Find Files | Contents tab where you can opt whether you want to use IFilters. How should I call this checkbox?
"Use IFilters" sounds a bit techie. But there is not a lot of space...

"Parse content"?
But then I don't know how "parse" would be translated in other languages...
IFilters may sound techie, but maybe it's the only viable option.

Really?admin wrote:Looks good to me.
Because even though it's my suggestion it feels too "geeky" and like it requires reading the help/tool tip to even begin to know what it does.
Does it truly need to be an option?

I wouldn't call anything IAnything. It sounds like you're trying to join the cult of Mac.

Couldn't you have asked this a bit earlier.
I mean, before I redesigned the whole tab to make it fit!

I just figured there was a noticeable speed impact, that it was to protect against the variance in results, or to avoid the moans of the change-adverse.

I hope not. Otherwise I would prefer an option to tick it OFF.TheQwerty wrote:I just figured there was a noticeable speed impact,

Re: IFilters
Sure it takes time, but only if you search the content of DOC files and the like. And you only search them when you want to find something in them, right? Which you will only do if the thing is TICKED. So there is no point at all in ticking it OFF.Stef123 wrote:I hope not. Re: IFilters
Yes, but how do I add pdf to "Office files" in the "Find Files Type Filter" drop down box?
I found that I can view but not edit(?) the the types by hitting F1 when the cursor is in the box (which does not seem to be documented), and I found the help file saying something about the "Previewed Formats" which is no help because it does not really correspond to the "Find Files Type Filter".

Re: IFilters
You could do it by setting this tweak:
But I will add PDF to the Office Files group now. An overlap with Web Files is no problem.
Code: Select all
