Move Folders from a Search Result

Post by binar »

Fellow Forum Members,
I'm using the latest version of XYplorer and need to know if the following is possible. When I perform a search for the word PDF I get a result of 75 PDF files. Each of these PDF files are nested within a FOLDER that has a unique name. How do I move all 75 PDF files from the SEARCH result over to a common folder named PDF Ebooks so that all the 75 FOLDERS also are included in the PDF file move. Is such a move operation that includes both the PDF file and the Folder containing the PDF file possible to perform from a search result? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Select them, right click on them, hold it, drag them to the other pane, release right mouse button -> Rich copy here...

Highend,
Thanks for answering my post. I followed your instructions to the letter and it works like a charm. This Rich Copy feature is outstanding. It let's one move the parent folder together with the file inside over to another folder. This is something that really comes in handy. The only issue is a minor one. Since it's a RICH COPY and not a RICH MOVE it requires one go back and delete the original files and folders that are left behind. However, this is no big deal. It's easy to go back and delete the source files and folder. Thanks for the help.

Being a context sensitive feat., it may happen you missed it coz of this. But generally if one is, other should be too.

The same context menu contains the rich move... as well. Never tried that, I like to delete files by myself...
