I am running XYPlorer 13.70.0100 on Windows 7 64-bit.
When I right click on a file and choose Copy, then right click on a folder expecting to see Paste as an option, there is no option to Paste.
Strangely I can copy and paste in the usual way when I am copying from my local drive to a drive on a networked computer.
What am I missing?
Thanks,
Scott

Hello and welcome to the club!
Sorry that Paste seems to have gone into hiding.
Thanks!

- When you right-click on the folder is that in the list pane or in the tree on the left?
- Do you have Tools > Configuration > Shell Integration > 64-bit Windows > Show the 64-bit context menu checked?
Thanks!

That was it! I unchecked that option and cut and paste have returned. Thanks so much!TheQwerty wrote: [*]Do you have Tools > Configuration > Shell Integration > 64-bit Windows > Show the 64-bit context menu checked?[/list]
One other question. Is there a way to see some hidden folders (specifically C:\ProgramData) without seeing all of the other hidden folders that show up when I check Trees & List > Show hidden files and folders?
Thanks again. I love this program.

Interesting... With this checked were you seeing any menu at all when right-clicking the folder?smpetty wrote:That was it! I unchecked that option and cut and paste have returned. There was an issue recently fixed that prevented the menu from showing for virtual folders with that setting enabled - you could try the latest beta to see if you can keep it enabled.
Don and Mesh might have some additional questions about the target folder, as I think we want Paste to be available even when the 64-bit context menu is enabled.
Unfortunately, not easily and maybe not at all in the free edition.smpetty wrote:One other question. Is there a way to see some hidden folders (specifically C:\ProgramData) without seeing all of the other hidden folders that show up when I check Trees & List > Show hidden files and folders?
If you really just want to hide certain folders from the tree pane, you might find MiniTree more useful.
The other option is Folder View Settings (FVS) with Visual Filters (VF), which has the ability to filter based on the hidden attribute (attr:h).
You'd leave Show hidden files and folders enabled and then create a default FVS. Then edit that FVS and give it a messy visual filter like so:
Code: Select all
|!attr:h and !"A" and !"A.txt" and !"B" and !"C.txt"With this you'll continuously have a VF applied, so you'll likely want to also disable Find Files & Branch View > Show Filter information in list.
Feel free to ask for help if you want instructions to do any of that.
That's the only way I know of and it's not a solution I'd be particularly happy with. Sorry!
Maybe someone else will chime in with a better way...

Re: Copy and Paste won't work
I never saw a 64-bit menu without Paste where the 32-bit menu had Paste. Weird!

Please check if the issue is fixed in v19.00.0008.
