Tools > Customize List > Full Row Select
(Remember to press save settings afterward)

Thank you for your answers, Binocular; But, yes, of course I’ve done that .. and Countless times! In some folders it seems to stick, while in others it forgets.

Do you have another other suggestion of what I might be missing?

Chuck

P.S., I’m an Ahk enthusiast also. My favorite XYplorer macro is a menu with dozens & dozens of my key folders, but I also like my 1-click open. My previous file manager was X2 & I was spoiled by its 1-click open, so I absolute Needed that in XYplorer.

Do you use Folder View Settings (Menu > View > Folder View Settings > Enable Folder View Settings)?

If yes: what happens if you trigger Menu > View > Folder View Settings > Define This Folder View As Default one you have the list style set up to your liking?

Thank you, Filehero for that suggestion!
I will test that and see if that does it.

Welcome to the XY club.
FYI: as an AHK user, you can control XY by using AHK with my script: http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic. ... 233#p82412

Not needed. FVS is meant to have particular folders in a particular layout. It's overkill to use it for the opposite.

If you just want list styles to apply globally across all tabs and panes then simply tick Configuration | Styles | Apply list styles globally.

I know. But as far as it works over here, once you have defined a default folder view you have to update it each time you want to change this default list style.

Or am I wrong here :? :?

That's true. But there is not much reason to do so, since XY applies an internal "auto default folder view" anyway when you come back to a non-folder-view-set folder.

Oh, didn't know, and sounds cool.

Q: I do "activate" this internal "auto default folder view" by deleting the existing FV

Code: Select all

<default>
in Manage Folder Views...?

I think so. :) I never used <default> and I have a couple of active FVS.

BTW,

wouldn't it make even more sense to remove the default-FV option completely? With it you gain nothing, w/o it you could loose some support requests.

Well, it was strongly wished years ago (I forgot why  ) and quite some work to add. So I'd rather keep it for now. No time to dig deeper now. :)
